We are now sitting in Lagos marina feeling quite pleased with ourselves having completed the Atlantic circuit.

We arrived earlier than anticipated at 3 pm local time (same as the UK) on Thursday 13th June.  Very pleased to be here!  After passing Cape St Vincent we took out one of the reefs and had a great sail along the coast to Lagos.  We were trying to beat “Magneta” to the finish but we didn’t quite manage it.

We tied up at the reception pontoon and checked in and were allocated our space in the marina. It was quite windy in the marina but we managed to park without hitting anything! We are in a berth which is one of the furthest from the showers and toilets so lots of walking involved.  This is a very nice marina, across a bridge from the town but with lots of bars and restaurants around the pontoons.

Tonight we have the final rally dinner and prize giving.  Then tomorrow Karma Daze comes out of the water in the boatyard which is next door.  Wednesday we fly home and have a break from sailing!  We will be back out in October sometime to put her back in the water and then use her as our floating apartment when the winter weather in the UK gets too miserable.....
