Our original plan was to head across to the Virgin Islands and then start heading north through the Turks and Caicos, then the Bahamas and then on to the US East coast, collecting crew (Frank) in the BVIs to help with the longer sails.  We were going to do this trip in company with Ian and Gerry (Spray).  Anyway they have decided they would like to be back in the Caribbean in November – doable as a couple of rallies sail from the US to BVIs each November, but doesn’t give anytime in the US to enjoy the sailing there.  This has made us look at our plans again and decide that we will head for the US next year and go via Cuba and spend a couple of weeks there.  Could do that this year but as we want to be back in the UK for the end of June at the latest we have left it a bit late.  This also gives us more time in the BVIs the US and Spanish Virgin Islands this year.
