Thursday 2nd May –Sunday 5th May

After being woken at 1.30 in the morning by “Spray’s” dinghy on the davits hitting the side of our boat (the wind had dropped so the boats laid all ways, and the buoys were a bot close together, we nearly left for the 50 sail to Martinique then, but decided to get some more sleep and leave at 06.00 as originally planned. The winds were fairly light and then on the nose so we ended up motoring a lot of the way. We went into Fort de France to stay overnight and check in there.
The next day we decided to go 5 miles across the bay to an anchorage called Trois Islets, and small town with 3 small islands in the bay. It is a very shallow anchorage but well marked by buoys on the way in. We thought there were quite a few boats moored, but when we were anchored (by the golf course) we realised it more a graveyard for ex charter catamarans and a couple of racing keel boats, all looking very sad as they seemed to have been neglected for some time.
The town was very small but we had a very nice meal in a very popular restaurant on the Saturday night then on Sunday 5th left for Marin and a marina.
