Saturday 18th May

Managed to sail all day Friday and into the night.  Clear skies overnight with a full moon.  The wind gradually died and as the sails started flogging and annoying everyone we decided to gybe and head in a more southerly direction.  This was successful.

By 10.am the wind was very light so we now have the cruising shute flying. This has given us an extra knot and we are sailing in a SSE direction.  Our aim is to be about 30N and 50 W by Wednesday to miss the lows that are coming towards us.  Hope this is the right strategy!

Life on board is pleasant when the sea is not too rolly.  Sea state good at the moment. Long may it continue
