Daily run: 98 miles
Early evening last night, in the pitch dark, but with the help of our deck light, which is mounted on the mast, we set the two foresails to allow us a comfortable heading north west in 12 knots of wind. We had aimed our course to avoid three atolls, but with the shifting of the wind to the South we found ourselves heading for one of them. At the dead of night we had to take down the sails and our twin poles and change tack to follow a safer course. The winds remained fickle, which did not make for a comfortable night. We are both tired this morning and are hoping for a better night tonight.
