Cape Town

While Luna Quest was being taken round to Cape Town from Richards Bay by a professional delivery skipper, I was on the operating theatre in Cape Town. We had flown in from Richards Bay via Durban and booked ourselves into a B&B in Durbanville, a suburb of Cape Town, to be near the medical services (The Surgical Institute). After 6 days in the B&B we moved to a self-catering flat in the very heart of the City of Cape Town from where we could visit many sights. Wonderful views were had from the top of Table Mountain, including that of Cape Town and Robben Island, a small island just outside Cape Town, whose main feature is a high security prison. It is now a museum and we were shown round there by former political prisoners. It was quite an experience. We have been to the theatre a couple of times and on the 16th we are travelling the Garden Route to Pretoria by The Blue Train and back again two days later by Rovos Rail. On the 22nd we fly home for Xmas, returning on January 2nd to prepare for the next leg to St Helena that starts on January 6th. My next blog entry is, therefore, likely to be January 7th, 2016.
