> Red sky at night, sailor's delight. A beautiful Wednesday evening with dolphins dancing and jumping around the bow. A second night of glorious sunset. The sickly diesel smell has disappeared and my sea have legs returned. I saw just one ship yesterday and none was spotted by the instruments overnight. I slept well. Although overcast at 0600 hrs this morning, the sky cleared during the morning to give more glorious sunshine.
>
> The wind has been veering and the forecast is for more veering until from the East on Saturday. I had thought of passing Finistere well to the West because of forecast wind acceleration, but that would take me too far into the Atlantic to reach Vigo comfortably. This morning, therefore, I changed course to pass in between the shipping lanes round Finistere and the Finistere itself.
>
> The batteries were down to 60% this morning because the radar is proving itself to be quite a power hungry tool, unlike Fred, who does not require sleep or food and whose reliability I could not do without.
