*** MISSING ***
Round, yellow thing, last seen in sky, known by the name of ‘Sun’.
Anyone finding it please return to Lini and Simon
who are desperately missing it!
…………………………………………………………....................
The weather today was worse with heavy drizzle and visibility down to
a stone’s throw: Not a good day for either the island bus tour or the
cycle down the caldeira that we had planned. As the bus departure time
approached we looked out at now heavy rain then battened down the
hatches and stayed put: A good opportunity to put the vacuum cleaner
round while Si printed off updates for the pilot book.
By mid afternoon we were going slightly crazy being cooped up
inside for so long, so we donned wet weather gear to visit the
supermarket again to replenish alcohol supplies. It was a good
opportunity to also buy more non-perishables for the next long leg at
sea. There was a brief spell of dry weather as we staggered back with
another tonne of beverages but then things deteriorated yet again. Si
went for a nap and I had another bad attempt at cutting my hair. A
lovely skype call from Ami came just as I was considering a grade 3
with the clippers! There was just time for a quick shower before our
chariot arrived: This evening we were invited for drinks on ‘Sareda’
out in the anchorage and Paul had offered to collect us to save us
pumping up the dinghy. On such a dreary day it had been lovely to have
something fun to look forward to.
Lin had been very busy and inside their bright and airy boat the
table was laid with scrummy looking nibbles. We shut out the foul
weather and as we toasted each other’s health the day was suddenly
brighter. I guess we would have guzzled our drinks a little more
slowly if we’d known it would be well into a new day when we would
finally leave. A whole bottle of gin and three bottles of red wine lay
empty on the side and it was the first time I’ve seen Simon struggling
to string a sentence together. Lin said she had never drunk gin before
they came to us the other evening so the two of them must have been
very thirsty to polish off the whole bottle. Another fab evening came
to a close.
