Bad news started the day when Simon took a thank-you bottle of wine round to Kim to find an empty boat. Neighbours said he was taken into hospital last night: Poor Kim. We assumed food poisoning and feared seven of us would be ill by the end of the day.

We had made enquiries about moving to another berth and with Simon flying home tonight I was keen to be the other side of the security gates. My third attempt in the office was successful this morning and we moved 100yds further into the marina: The difference was amazing, so much quieter and feeling much safer. Booms finished our hull polish after several days ‘rest’ so hopefully we won’t be pestered with quite so many people touting for business in our knew berth. Simon made the big mistake of paying him before the job was finish and we doubted it would ever be finished. I continued with the laundry which still filled most of the cockpit. Good job we only moved a short distance.

Sunboy and Nika left today and we were sad to see them go: What lovely families. Hopefully Nika will call back for an overnight stop on Tuesday, but Sunboy now slowly make their way back to Australia. On Brindabella I cooked Sunday lunch then we prepared for Simon’s departure. I was sad to wave Simon goodbye but so excited about seeing CJ on Tuesday.

I wasted no time as the taxi turned out of the marina: Brindabella needed a spring clean. It took me until nearly 1am to wash all the walls down in the cabins and vacuum all the upholstery. It was a hot, humid night and hard work.
