I told Si to sleep as long as he could this morning after our
eventful night. At 7am when I wrote up the log he looked for once to
be resting peacefully and a longer, deeper sleep should be much more
beneficial. Today he looks a little more healthy. From this morning’s
GRIB file and his 12.30pm chat with Dick it looks like there is worse
weather to come tomorrow, but for now we made the most of calming
winds and seas banking some zeds, having hot showers, making water and
scanning the seas for wildlife. A pair of shearwaters have been
following us for ages now and dolphins continue to visit briefly.
I was feeling awful by this evening and for once was glad of no
wind and a gentle motor through the night enabling some sleep. The
skies were clear on watch and I was bitterly cold despite four layers
on my legs and five on my top. I grabbed a fleece blanket and snuggled
into a corner under the sprayhood counting the minutes to the hot
bunk.
