Lini had her grumpy head on this morning: With little sleep and
toothache still nagging away, the seas flipped things over in the
galley as I emptied the fridge to retrieve things lower down and my
kidneys were continually thrown into the crash bar in front of the
cooker. Oh to be a few inches taller! I napped for a couple of hours
after breakfast and luckily woke with my smiley head on.
Simon’s day started swimmingly well: Not only was Radio 4 crystal
clear but Pakistan were playing Australia on Test Match Special. He
was a very happy boy; well, reasonably happy that is with Australia
playing badly and our wind slowly dying.
It looks like we will arrive in Falmouth tomorrow morning,
hopefully before the next passing low. At 4pm we heard our first
broadcast from Falmouth Coastguard now 85miles away and things
gradually became more busy. When I came on watch at 10pm Simon was
tracking umpteen vessels on AIS and was ready to change course at our
waypoint well south of Lands End. I was kept on my toes through my
watch too with vessels everywhere as they changed course after leaving
the TSS (Traffic Separation Scheme). The loom from the lighthouses off
the Scilly Isles and Lands End came into view in bad visibility.
