Day 17

There is an air of excitement onboard now as we (foolishly I know) estimate our finish time. With my reduced speed the ‘Hours to Go’ on the chartplotter is not a lot different from yesterday. Simon is not very happy as he is very competitive: Lini is glad she’s still alive! Spirits are generally high though and plans are being made for our arrival and then Simon’s flight home to collect CJ for Christmas. There has been little time to prepare for the festive season.

No squalls caught us today and they shook out my reefed mainsail in light winds. The cross seas continue to make ‘Si cross’ as I can’t help but roll about with my sails flapping. Si repacked Porsche and replaced the broken lines to use tomorrow if light winds continue.

I was so excited to hear a couple of the girls on VHF today and we have sighted two more as well. The reunion approaches……………….

Breakfast – Mango+ yoghurt – Bacon and egg.

Lunch – Seed bread, Serrano ham and cheese.

Dinner – Gammon, pineapple, potato wedges, Waldorf salad.
