A Day For Guinness To Be Sure
I was somewhat irritable first thing feeling desperately tired
after little sleep. We ate breakfast watching the beautiful ‘Sea
Cloud’ sail into the bay. Si looked her up on the internet and
apparently she has a very interesting past which is well worth
reading. Feeling little like dashing off on a hike we read for a while
before Andrew stopped by. With no new customers sailing in he ended up
staying for coffee and cake while coming up with some suggestions for
my fishing tackle. Next time? ………………….
Today started airless, wind free and hot as Brindabella swayed in
the decreasing swell. After cleaning more silicon from the site of the
old solar panel Si took his new spatula over board for a session of
barnacle removal while I had a busy time recording the events of the
last couple of days. There I stayed for most of the day only stopping
to rustle up some lunch. By four thirty I had just about caught up
with a busy week and dived off the transom for a quick dip. Our
sundowners tonight were our last two bottles of Guinness accompanied
by a vibrant yellow then pink sunset beside the Cabrit Hills. Our
barbecue took minutes to prepare and I am rather enjoying the minimum
effort the new gas barbecue takes to fire up and clean. The weekly
reggae night at Big Papa’s which we feared would be extremely loud
gangster rap type music like other islands turned out to be a really
good band which was a joy to listen to as we read after dinner in a
wonderfully cool evening. We retired praying for sleep tonight.
