Our pre-breakfast swim was most welcome after the heat of the night but I was sad to think about heading back to the marina where there’s so much water but none to swim in. My back was improving rapidly too with the swimming. We got the boat together and weighed the anchor, hoisting sails as we looked back at the idyllic setting. The sail back was fantastic with a good breeze just forward of the beam and the first time we’d sailed with the bimini up. Fluky winds met us at Pigeon Island and as we tacked into Rodney Bay I looked down the coast from where we had sailed in some weeks ago, reminiscing the excitement of completing our first transatlantic and crossing the finish line.

Simon had a most productive afternoon back in the marina and was a happy bunny. J Amongst other things he fixed up the Ankarolina anchor line on the stern which we will have to use in some places to tie us to palm trees! How exciting!! CJ and I were busy on our laptops, me desperately trying to recall the last week for the blog and catch up with emails. The sun always goes down so quickly and yet again caught me out: Time to think about feeding hungry boys.

Together with rock hard bananas and a sour than sour star fruit, Gregory in his floating fruit stall had sold us the biggest avocado I have ever seen. CJ took a photo of the monster. Half of the yellow/ orange flesh filled a cereal bowl to make guacamole on Monday which was the first time we had ever had leftovers. It went into the ham baguettes yesterday. For lunch today we had avocado in our cheesy wraps and tonight I made more guacamole to have with drinks. It was one HUGE avocado. CJ had been promised another film tonight so I made a quick pasta dish for dinner and also some more meringue to make pavlova with the remaining cream and fruits from Christmas. We sprayed Aeroguard round our ankles and huddled around CJ’s laptop for tonight’s big picture.
