Rain was forecast later today so I got straight on with a huge pile
of laundry, pegging it out with hopes it would dry before the rain
arrived. . ‘Festina Lente’ moved on to a different anchorage this
morning so hopefully we’ll see them again before they leave for the
Azores. I also managed to check over my bicycle which hasn’t come out
of its bag for six months now. I’d cleaned them well in Gran Canaria
and sprayed them with something to protect them from the damp salty
atmosphere, but I have been worried that they have been turning to
rust under our bed. My shiny blue Brommy emerged from its bag in great
nick however and I can’t wait to get the bikes ashore for a cycle down
the old railway lines.
I wasn’t in such great nick this afternoon though and went to bed
with nasty shooting pains down my sides and fears that the kidney
stones were on the move. Si had a pretty awful afternoon too servicing
the engine and four letter words echoed through the engine room with
every drip of oil that landed on his spotless engine room floor. He
changed the oil and all the filters then took all the waste ashore.
I turned out my bedside light tonight fearful of what might happen
with my stones through the night.
