more maintenance then zipped off to buy the new sail battens. I
commenced a mountain of laundry with the wind building as usual. With
quick but not lightening quick reflexes I failed to catch the beach
towel which shot off the line in a gust, but luckily caught it with
the boat hook just before it sunk out of sight. We decided against
lunch ashore in favour of guarding the laundry.
I had decided it was finally time to finish the vegetables from Las
Palmas before the transatlantic: A very well travelled pumpkin was
still aboard from November 20th 2009! Not a huge lover of pumpkin
Simon couldn’t wait for the first of several offerings; slices grilled
with the barbecue which he ate with a polite smile. A nice bottle of
chilled French white was sure to please however.
