Tai Chi and abs complete I commenced a session of pancake making for Simons Sunday breakfast. R pontoon slowly came to life with busy parents and the happiest and most beautiful and well behaved children youd ever care to meet. Extra crew are arriving on boats with happy reunions and excited vibes. Bodies can be seen climbing up masts for rig inspections reminding us we too must venture aloft. There is an air of anticipation all around.

Today is the new safety day on Brindabella after us running out of time yesterday. With equipment changing location frequently we firstly went through where everything is, then followed the list through again with instructions for use: One expensive piece of equipment after another I hoped wed never have to use. Breaking our sombre thoughts for lunch, I made leek and lentil soup then we emptied out the grab bags sorting items into three bags to take to the life-raft if time would permit in an emergency.

All the yachts around us are much larger with wonderfully huge biminis. Feeling awning deficient we put our big sun awning up but alas, it was fear of rain while I mend the sprayhood tomorrow rather than envy or baking sun that was our real motive. Todays arrival on R was the Danish boat Glendoline, the first ARC boat we met on the trip here in Portugal. They werent on deck for long so well catch up later. A few more jobs were crossed off the list before dinner then with the wind picking up and temperatures cool we went below. Si spent the evening listening to the SSB radio with his new headphones and I dug out my file of notes. I have some serious meal planning and provisioning to sort out very shortly.

It was a blowy night with creaking mooring lines and rattling halyards. My night was restless with more fears of foul weather and items to add to lists popping up in my head and urgently needing jotting down before I forgot them.
