Carriacou – meaning – surrounded by reefs and quoted as an island
with over a hundred rum shops but only one gasoline station. Worth
investigating I thought! First things first though; there was a
mountain of laundry to peg out and we had wifi. Yeehah!! Simon skyped
Guy and checked his emails but sadly as usual, by the time I had text
my family to get them online the signal had dropped out.  Simon then
donned his sluggers and snorkel gear and grabbing my fish slice dived
off the back of the boat to scrape barnacles from the hull. There has
been such a lot of growth in the last couple of weeks in the marina he
now thinks we may have to lift the boat for a proper hull clean.
We ended up having a really lazy afternoon and far from going to
explore ashore Simon’s nose disappeared into his book and I got my
toys out: Lesson Two- Looking at things from different directions -
Drawing Shoes. This took me hours. My tatty trainers which haven’t
been on my feet since England were propped up on cushions and became
the focus of my attention until the sinking sun called for a beer. I
wonder if it takes me all afternoon to draw a shoe what hope is there
for a sketch of a town…………
Simon was a happy Aussie again tonight as he cooked dinner on the
new BBQ. I like it when he’s pleased with his toys; he’s a very happy
bunny. He then delved back into his book and completed the book in a
day before bed.
