Brindabella's Web Diary
Simon Williams

It was another day of sewing for me and sadly an extremely
frustrating day for Simon as he tried to get the watermaker to work.
He finally decided after two years and nine months of the thing
playing up, it is time to ask for a replacement or his money back.
When I think of all the time he has spent on it and the anger it has
produced, compensation should really be paid too: It has been a total
pain and ruined so many of our days. We will now probably have to buy
drinking water and make specific stops to fill our tanks in marinas.
Long passages at sea will now call for caution with consumption and
for us to carry huge amounts of bottled water. Si spent some time
later this afternoon composing his letter but as yet has not sent it.
Thank goodness we’d planned sundowners with Kirt and Gayle at 5pm
which was guaranteed to change the mood onboard. With their decks
being removed but feeling they should provide sundowners for us this
evening, our neighbours arrived on Brindabella armed with platefuls of
nibbles and a lethal concoction of equal parts of tea, orange juice
and rum. It was delicious and poured over ice slipped down a treat
with no indication of the alcohol content!!!After a lovely couple of
hours of chatting and unwinding Kirt bid us goodnight and left Gayle
to finish telling us about the best places they had visited on their
route down from Florida. I am now certain we will not have time to see
all these wonderful places. Feeling a tad squiffy I made notes, but am
doubtful that anything will make sense when I read it back later.
Thank heavens for emails! It wasn’t much later that Simon and I
skipped dinner and fell into bed.
