Made the mistake of quickly trying to Skype my family first thing; bad move - more internet problems! We set off for my ultrasound with the streets busier than ever. Lying on the couch I watched in horror as a cluster of gall stones came into view. Oh dear! My body is obviously missing my midweek routine back home of sensible eating and gym workouts; my cholesterol levels were always so good too!!!!! I was not a happy bunny. Si left me to do some retail therapy and shot over to the chandlery, but the shopping didn’t go well either. I desperately wanted to find something for Si’s approaching birthday but I only found something minor. I also ran out of time and was unable to shinny up to the fort to take photos. The town was very cheery however as tomorrow Grenada celebrates its Independence Day with shop windows and locals all dressed in the national colours of green yellow and red. Bunting criss-crossed the streets and above many doors posters read “God Bless Our Nation”.

I met Si at the dinghy at 11am and we stopped off at Pebbles for a smoothy. We had planned to go to the jazz club tonight but talking to the owner it sounded like Tuesday would be better as they have a really good vocalist singing. We postponed our plans and had a night onboard starting with an incredibly stripy sunset that changed colour by the second. Unfortunately there was no silhouette of a classic yacht to photograph only a beaten up old oil tanker! The lights from Grande Anse towards the airport however continued to twinkle in a hundred colours.
