Despite the very early hour Cath, Dan and I sat together for breakfast. With great relief there had been no snow in the night. Cath wrapped up warmly and headed off to work; Dan drove me to Guildford station: Two more sad farewells. I was glad I’d gone for the earlier train as the Gatwick Express moved slowly towards the airport, but luckily there were no more hold ups until traffic in the taxi to the marina where the love of my life was waiting on the steps of the bar. In contrast to freezing Britain the evening was hot and humid as we unloaded my bags and the taxi driver demanded another 60 ECD on top of the twice agreed price with his boss. What are we supposed to do? Welcome back to St. Lucia Lini!

The well loaded dinghy took us back home to Brindabella anchored in Rodney Bay and drinking green tea we caught up on events over the past few days. Today Si had visited Zahara, Fair Encounter, Liberty whose repairs are going well, Gwendline where Kim is recovering well after his appendectomy and Irma who are also anchored in the bay. With my body clock now four hours ahead of Simon’s I went to bed with ambivalent feelings; so sad to be away from my family, but so glad to be back home on Brindabella.
