We woke to overcast skies and a morning of intermittent showers. While Si checked us out at the office and cleared me out of customs I joined many others in grabbing the boat brush during showers giving Brindabella a much needed bath. Strong winds accompanied the showers unfortunately and after already delaying our departure we decided to just anchor in Rodney Bay over night. CJ bid farewell to Ben and we to more friends who I may not see again if I return to another town. Si will return in a few days to fit the autohelm.

Out in the bay a swell was building from the south making life at anchor decidedly rolly. Si and I thought if CJ wasn’t seasick in these conditions he never will be again. After a brief swim as the sun sunk behind the headland we prepared a BBQ on the back of Brindabella. It felt great to be on our travels again. My second attempt at breadmaking in the Cobb BBQ was not quite so much of a disaster as the first at home where the dough grew so much it filled the dome and suffocated the fire, but it will need turning next time to avoid a singed bottom. It was a rolly, humid night at anchor with no power for the extravagance of electric fans.
