Cinderella’s fairy godmother granted another wish and today she sailed off with her handsome prince…………..We decided to escape the marina for a day or two and head down the coast a short distance to the very picturesque Marigot Bay where parts of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ were filmed. CJ hasn’t sailed for some time but was soon grinding winches and helming. As we approached, numerous boat boys motored out to greet us offering baskets, fruit, handicrafts or help mooring the boat. It looked like we would get no peace. The sheltered bay was fantastic with lush green hills falling down to light green sea. Further into the bay a white sandy peninsular with palm trees and rope swing over the water sat before a small marina with new shopping complex and hotel, apparently charging New York fees.

The anchor held at our third attempt and we wasted no time cooling off. In the wonderfully warm sea we snorkelled over the coral, three big children. The skies entertained over sundowners, turning multicoloured behind the headland. We ate roast lamb, roast potatoes, mint sauce, gravy, carrots and French beans in a setting fit for kings then snuggled up in the cockpit and watched a film together.
