CJ and Ben spent much of the day in the pool between the dreaded Christmas food shop. We and Liberty took our dinghies to the mall to shop together as we’d planned a BBQ together Christmas Day. Just like England there wasn’t a trolley in sight and I had to grab one from someone unloading their shopping. Empty spaces sat in the places of much of the food we’d ear marked but at least we found plenty to create a feast. Stowing the food back on Brindabella wasn’t quite so easy as the freezer was now packed with drinks leaving no room for veggies. We managed: Just.

Simon treated us to a slap up meal tonight at the popular Edge Restaurant. I jumped in the dinghy in silk dress, stilettos in bag and we motored the short distance into the lagoon, tying up on the dock beside the restaurant. We were seated looking out into the lagoon with large torches lighting the waterfront. The menu was interesting and I spotted several of the dishes Bobo the Swedish chef had replicated when he did the cookery demo in the marina last week. CJs eyes lit up at the sushi menu. The staff were quite amused that a small(ish) boy ordered tempura prawns to start then sushi for two (or one sushi lover). He certainly had a good attempt at eating it all but Si helped out a fair bit. I didn’t know whether to eat my main meal or take photos of the swirl of purées and sauces under my Dorado delicately decorated with pancetta, peas and red cabbage. It was very delicious. CJ with full belly and body clock on London time was soon snuggled up with Simon while we waited to pay the bill. A refreshing blast back in the dinghy with Si in racer mode soon woke us up though.
