Day 14

   Storm clouds dissipating, finally my exhausted skipper got to bed and we were back on course after steering miles off track to escape the storm. Spirits were low after losing so much ground but we counted our blessings to be safe. Porsche sat all day on my forebunk awaiting inspection and a change of lines and it was my mainsail and poled genoa again that saw us through the day and night. Lini was a tad nervous as darkness blanketed us, but the only storm cloud followed a parallel course several miles off. The small squalls that did come through we either dodged or reefed and a dreaded night turned out to be a pleasant one with plenty of sleep too. Boy did they need it!

Breakfast – Grapes, apple, kiwi+ yoghurt – Omelettes.

Lunch – Pesto bread bruschettas with ham, cheese, peppers and pesto.

Dinner – Stew, mash+ green beans.
