Puerto Mogan, Gran Canaria

A quiet night passage to Gran Canaria for engine. We are getting pretty good at coming into ports in the dark: this time several boats outside were unlit and no moon.
We left marina Pastito Blanco as soon as we could and was equally diappointed along the southern coast of this popular island. The small bays have been destroyed by the hotel constructions and sailors are not very welcome nor are there really much marinas.
Luckily, we could come into small and FULL Puerto Mogan. We now know you need to book weeks in advance and wonder why they let all the run down boats left here take up much needed space. A pittoresque old fishing village P. Mogan has kept its sharm including bougainvilla and small canals.
20 years ago Espen's Mum remember seeing one lonely German sailing boat here.
Not any longer...and with Friday's market it was crowded with tourists from all over the coast. We retreated to the boat...
