The sun was out and sailing at 7 knots plus tide made Port Ellen an option so we hardened sheets slightly and altered course. The best sailing of the whole trip in a beautiful afternoon and evening and at 20.00 we motored again to ensure we arrived in daylight, anchoring in Kilnaughton Bay at 21.45 having logged 86.4 miles in 13 hours. I didn’t need to go ashore for a dram!
