Autumn in the Chesapeake can be beautiful but also can be cold! Hence when we get up in the morning we automatically put on socks for the first time in over a year! During the day the temperature has sometimes been over 25 degrees C but it has also been down to around 10 degrees C which is a bit of a shock to the system- we have even had rain to interrupt the work schedule!

We have been ashore for nearly 3 weeks now and have been very comfortable apart from the ladder and the “long walk” when nature calls!

The marina is very friendly and there are plenty of services on site but there is no public transport so we regularly borrow bikes and head out or we have been given lifts by the marina or other yachtsmen. Steve and Chris from “Scott Free” whom we first met in Lanzarote are also here now and we have all been up to Annapolis for an OCC party and the Sail Boat Show on Friday. The epoxy work at the waterline is now finished and we have antifouled and “boot-toped” as well and completed lots of other jobs. The autopilot arrived back on Thursday with a replacement ram so hopefully the saga is almost at a conclusion! We hope to launch mid- week and cruise the Chesapeake for a few weeks before heading South to the Caribbean again!
