noon tuesday
Good strong Easterly trade winds and we romped
along all night although it was cloudy and we saw few stars and missed the
partial eclipse..
Our day's run noon to noon was 162 miles
which we will be happy with if we average it for the rest of the trip.
Off watch in a saloon bunk this morning I was woken when i felt something
land on my back but I couldn't see anything and then I smelt FISH! An 8"
flying fish had come through the deck hatch and ended up writhing on the cabin
sole!
Then this afternoon we suddenly realised the
autopilot was not working correctly and the drive has broken down! Luckily I
left in the original rotary drive and once this was rewired we were able to use
the autopilot again. Fingers crossed it will hold out until the hydraulic linear
drive can be repaired.
All well on board . David and
