The Contrasts are not our day to day situation but
the difference between here and back in Scotland. Tonight is AYC staff party
and no doubt everyone has been well wrapped up all day. Here we have had no
wind since midnight and we have been motoring on a glassy sea in a SW direction
looking for the elusive trades. No sign of any other boats and just
the occasional bird and whale to be seen. THe sun is blazing down even at
1900 hrs and even the night watch will just wear shorts and
tee shirt . In sympathy with AYC staff we have had a steak dinner and
an extra can of beer but there is no band aboard!
The forecast is suggesting wind on monday gradually
increasing so we will keep motoring through sunday if required (which is why we
filled the diesel tanks in Mondelo).
Everybody well on board and trying not to overdo
the sun!
957 miles since we left La Gomera ( 1900hrs
tonight.)
Best wishes
