Tuesday was a shock to the system as the wind was on the nose, the tide unhelpful, the sea confused and every tack seemed to be a poor one! We logged 74 miles in 13.5 hours and the last 8 miles were in driving rain as we finally motored past Roches Point.

The Royal Cork Yacht Club were very welcoming and the pontoons very sociable, we enjoyed staying for a couple of days.

We took the local bus into Cork although in retrospect we should have taken ‘Moonbeam’ to the visitor pontoon up in the city. The English Market is a fascinating food market and well worth a visit.
