This is written Thursday evening so difficult to remember what we did yesterday! After the usual round of boat jobs we wandered into La Corunna to look at the covered markets which were packed with seafood, meats ,fruit and veg.

On the way back we decided to have lunch at a little local restaurant in the old town where the 3 course " menu of the day" was only 8 euros! There was plenty of choice for this and the food was excellent and the price included a bottle of beer and a bottle of wine- all for the total of 16 euros for us both! In the evening we entertained our Dutch friends Rene and Anneka ( he calls her Edith as they love "Allo Allo" ) and Wolfgang and Connie from Germany. Not surprisingly the references to Allo Allo were not familiar to Wolfgang and Connie. Despite the language barriers we had a great evening and today we all got on the train together to Santiago de Compostella.
Here parts of the old city are very attractive but the atmosphere is very touristy and I think spoilt by a considerable Police presence including riot wagons- I hardly think they had heard we were going.

The Spanish train was clean and comfortable  with no evidence of vandalism or graffiti and travelled at 160 km/hr!  Anyway lots of walking to work off the excesses!
