Someday

Very hot morning and we dropped the mooring and headed out of the Ria. As usual the wind was on the nose and quite fresh and soon fog came in to join us. However with 2 slabs in the main and later 4 rolls in the genoa Moonbeam went to windward well and we logged 28 miles before we berthed in the Marina del Cantabrico. The entrance to the port of Santander is very attractive with an interesting promontory to stbd and a sandy beach to port. The channel winds past the city and docks to a very sheltered marina.

Could not find the oil change pump so had to buy another one and did an oil and filter change without getting in too much of a mess.

Friday
The problems with the Air Breeze wind generator resulted in having to pack it up and post it to Germany so we got on the bus to Santander. Acquiring a cardboard box became easier once we used Google Translate to provide a crib sheet!
Santander was a lovely easy city to walk around with a good mixture of old and modern buildings. Now we know who are taking over our banks!

Lunch in a tapas bar ( again!) in the city and back to Moonbeam. Thunder and lightening for the second day in a row!
