Saturday morning a short trip north to Northeast Harbour where we had arranged to have the new engine water pump sent so we docked at Morris Yacht Service yard and collected the parcel.

It did not take long to get involved with helping to recover two halliards on a classic day race boat rather like a small Dragon and later when we had finished the rigger at Morris Yachts told me that the owner who we had helped was called Ford- as in the motor car- literally!

While Lynn went visiting a garden I tackled replacing the engine freshwater pump and fingers crossed all seems to be well.

Sunday morning at 0900 we were on the (free!) bus to Bar Harbour, one of the many that continuously run routes within the Arcadia National Park.

It is only 12 miles away and the small town is geared towards tourism and particularly the small cruise ships that call in although the QE11 has anchored there! We resisted the temptations of lobster rolls and hats with claws sticking out  and headed back on another bus to Jordon Pond in the middle of the park. Within the park in Mount Desert Island there are over 50 miles of carriageways for horses, bikes and pedestrians but no cars and on this busy Sunday all the car parks looked full but we walked the 5 miles back to NE Harbour on tracks and trails and hardy saw a soul until we arrived at Turaya Gardens.

Then a few energetic hours on boat jobs including installing the new SSB antenna!
