Norfolk to Coinjock

36.21.128N 075.56.842W Norfolk was busy and very sociable. The new autopilot was installed but the design changes in the new model turned a 15 minute job into a 12 hour one with new s/s brackets having to be made! We joined Gary and Greta for shopping trips and provisioned up for the trip ahead. We had a busy social life with Gary and Greta and the crews of “Alexes”, “Rasmus”,”Minnie-B” and on Thursday Dave and Alison flew to Norfolk to join us for the trip South.
Party in Norfolk! Friday morning we were up early and away from the dock at 0800 and away south through Norfolk and into the ICW. The crew had brought Scottish weather with them and we had a rising wind gusting to 35knots and at 1630 we reached Coinjock where the docks were full of motor yachts. Dinner in Crabbie’s restaurant was excellent with great seafood and steaks plus Alison’s introduction to ‘hushpuppies’! The forecast for Saturday was gale force and the next bridge was going to be shut all day so we stayed put and walked for some exercise although this was negated by a visit to Cindy’s cake shop and stew at the local open day where we had a great chat with friendly locals including the local officer of the law.
