28th December noon. 166 miles
run.
Last night was the first time that the squalls
visible on the radar headed straight for us so the genoa was furled up and the 3
rd reef put back in the main and on various occasions the wind gusted to 34
knots and delivered driving rain which at least was warm! "Moonbeam" happily ran
along under reduced sail.
However the morning bought much quieter weather and
we have rather ambled along thinking we should really be going faster but this
is really quite pleasant. All meals have been taken in the cockpit so far but
because of the motion it is only practical to eat out of bowls with one utensil
while you balance and hang on with the other!
This afternoon we stole another 2 hours to put us
onto Caribbean time so we are now 4 hours behind UK.. Crew are all well, healthy
and clean and quite relaxed although looking forward to getting to
Bequia.
As of 2100UTC today we have about 450 miles to go
or about 3 days sailing - hopefully we will arrive in time for the
fireworks!
