position noon Sunday
We left the pontoon at 1000 saturday with a blast
on the horn from Terry and Debbie of "Wings" who have been our good neighbours
for over a month! There was even a photographer from American "Sail" magazine
taking our photo! The forecast was correct and there was no wind as we
motored south west for 24 hours. The night was lovely and clear with a sky full
of stars but for a short time we had a shower of rain but we were treated to a
display of distant lightning and shooting stars.
The wind started to gain in strength and by 0900 we
had turned off the engine and we are currently sailing at over 6 knots with some
help from the current as well - distance run to noon is 156 miles. Breakfast was
interrupted when the fishing line went tight and we reeled in a 10lb Mahi-Mahi!
This has now been filleted and Lynn is planning her recipe for tonight and no
doubt there will be leftovers!
We are expecting the wind to go light on Monday and
we will have to head more south so may yet go to the Cape Verdes.
Meanwhile all is well on board and we are enjoying
the sunshine and looking forward to Sunday lunch!
