"Provo" Turks & Caicos
On Monday I checked us out of Turks and Caicos
with the Customs and we set off late morning down the Sandbore Channel which is
about 8 miles of shallow water and coral heads. We then headed North-West with a
plan to sail overnight with an early morning stop at West Plana Cay. Monday
afternoon was really glorious sailing, a perfect broad reach with 3 sails set,
lovely sunshine, smooth sea and a favourable current. We arrived at West Plana
about 03.30 and it seemed imprudent to go in and anchor in the dark so we
decided to carry on. However the breeze was lighter and we motor sailed to avoid
being another night at sea. At 18.00 hrs we anchored at Rum Cay in crystal clear
water and enjoyed our Sundowner and dinner in the cockpit after our 190 mile
sail.

Could this be a new submersible tender for Moonbeam?
By morning the wind had gone more Southerly which
is not ideal for Rum Cay but it was not strong. We went ashore to the perfect
beach and walked to the 'town' where despite there being 3 restaurants there are
only 50 or 60 inhabitants! There is even a small marina with a 90' motoryacht in
it but like many marina's in this part of the world it can only be accessed at
high water by 6ft draught.
