A quiet night- no racket from across the water! Had
to drive the Delta out it was in so firm when we left at 8.00am. As we left the
Ria we were passed by a lifeboat that had been down at Camarinas for the
Fiesta!
  The forecast was for W or NW winds but in fact we
had very light SE's so Mr Yanmar kept chugging on! At Cape Finisterre, a
veritable milestone, the wind went to SW although stayed light but we were able
to sail hard on the wind. We were escorted around the Cape by yet another
lifeboat- this one over 200feet.

Finisterre!!The NW swell had miraculously disappeared and
"Moonbeam" doesn't mind light winds and calm seas and she beat at over 6 knots
in only 8 knots of wind- pretty good for a very overloaded 38 year old
cruising yacht!
  The way into Ria Muros is littered with shallow
banks and despite the calm sea the "boom" of the breaching seas is very loud- I
would not want to be there in bad weather!
In the Ria the wind was dead aft and very
light so we motored the last couple of miles to anchor off the town of
Muros.
  Despite the rain which had just started we went
ashore to stretch legs and investigate town. Most of the buildings on the front
have covered arcades and make natural taverns so we sampled the " Albarina"
local white wine which was extremely acceptable! The back streets are very
narrow and random in layout and some of the buildings are very old. A very
comfortable town with helpful and pleasant shopkeepers.(also note they have a
new 40 ton Sublift too as well as a100 ton hoist!)
