Bill and Gina invited us for dinner aboard “Blueprint” so we motored over to Townsend Gut where we anchored in a sheltered passage way between two islands.

On checking the engine I discovered that the fresh water circulating pump had started to leak so on Monday morning we headed over to Robinhood Marine to order a replacement.

Sod’s law meant that of course I had a spare pump for the old engine but I knew it would not fit the new engine!  Sod struck again as there is not a spare in the USA and it will take 2 weeks to obtain a replacement. Luckily at the moment we can live with the leak as long as it does not get any worse!

Robinhood Marine is a very attractive boatyard and it was fun to be there but we decided to head over to Boothbay Harbour.

Back down Townsend Gut the swing bridge had to open for us and from one of the cars stopped at the bridge a head stuck out, wolf whistled and shouted “Beautiful Boat”! Lynn is of the opinion that the whistle was directed at her.

We picked up a mooring as anchoring is not allowed in Boothbay Harbour. We went ashore and discovered that there was a free bus to the supermarket so we jumped aboard to top up stores. The bus driver was a very chatty lady who gave us lots of info about the town and after having done a major shop we were waiting for the bus when the driver turned up in her own pickup truck! She said that the bus had stopped running for the day but as she had noticed that we had not come back she came to pick us up!
