The week so far has been spent on more little jobs-
please don't get the idea that there is always a problem, even if there is ! -
It is just little things crop up and that always seems an opportunity to do
something else; some 'minor' improvements or modifications. Then there is the
continuous " preparation" and most of one day has been spent checking and
cleaning the rig; the atmosphere in the Canaries is very dusty and also
corrosive so it has to be cleaned and inspected more often than we would in
Scotland.
The shopping trolley now has more miles on the
clock as the 5 supermarkets, carefully spread at opposite corners of the town,
all appear to have there own special lines unobtainable in
the others!
The marina and harbour had some interesting
visitors for a couple of nights when the Dutch Square rigger " Stad Amsterdam"
moored at the breakwater and the " Eye of the Wind" and the "Bessie Ellen"
squeezed into the marina. A far cry from all the plastic moored in the
Marina.

Thursday was Thanksgiving and Terry and Debbie
aboard "Wings" next door hosted a great dinner with 7 couples around the saloon
table and everyone had contributed various parts of the menu. 5 Nationalities,
superb food and great hilarity made for a wonderful evening! Coincidentally
Terry and Debbie are good friends of our friends Steve and Karyn of "Threshold"
who we first met at Ardfern in 2004 and whom we last saw at the Jura
Music Festival in 2008!

walk which were roasted on the BBQ
everyone dressed for dinner!The crew arrive on Saturday evening so "Moonbeam"
is being transformed from a "2 person" boat into a " 5 person's boat"! The
current forecasts suggest we may stay in La Gomera longer than planned as a
couple of weather fronts are aimed straight at the Canaries! However I am sure
we will find plenty to do!
