Saintes

The 30 miles to the Saintes started as a fresh broad reach, became a zero wind motor then ended up a thrash to windward in 20 knots of true wind! Sometimes the rain on the lee side of Guadeloupe’s mountains just caught us and we were pleased to anchor off the ‘Pain de Sucre’ ,away from the busy ferry docks and rolly anchorage.
Squall coming! Good speed!
Clear water and good snorkelling plus the anchor is easily checked in 40ft of water!
Pain de Sucre
Wednesday we enjoyed the walk into ‘ town’ along with Paul and Catherine from ‘Kahia’, getting the inevitable baguette and a few vegetables.

Thursday morning we decided to move anchorage but the ‘Bourg’ anchorage was uncomfortable so after clearing out of Customs we headed South to Dominica, surprised initially by the rough sea but soon on a sparkling fresh beat and we anchored in Prince Rupert Bay just after 3 hours to cover the 20 miles.
