The wind continued to be very strong all week and
watching yachts entering the marina was alarming at times!
Once again the time just seemed to disappear!
Tuesday was spent helping Henk and Angela on their Dutch steel boat which had a
blocked toilet outlet pipe which was impossible to remove! So a combination of
foaming 'Aqua Ferte' and an adapter to apply pressure to the pipe eventually had
it cleared to the relief of 'de turd engineers!'

Meanwhile Mike's new mainsail was held up by
customs and his wind generator pole sheared but luckily we found an excellent
welder who was able to repair and strengthen the pole at short notice so that
had to be reassembled, wind genny rewired and the new mainsail bent on!
Meanwhile I also finished a few jobs on 'Moonbeam'!

Friday morning the wind was much reduced and Mike
and Hilde left for Trinidad and Cape Verdes and we set off for a lovely sail to
La Gomera. Half way there the wind rose as anticipated to nearly 30 knots and
the sea got very confused but Moonbeam happily surfed along in the
sunshine.

San Sebastian and to our surprise there was a vacant berth available for
us.

small town and enjoyed the ambience.

to discover America ( if you believe that! )
We have visited twice before on 'Copihue 11'
and 'Shian' and enjoyed it very much so that was the reason for us wanting to
return. A pleasant meal ashore to celebrate the completion of 'Stage One' of the
adventure, safe arrival at our intended destination and over 3000 miles logged.
The plan is to stay here, preparing for the crossing and walking in the
mountains, until the crew arrive on 27th November and then depart for the
Caribbean a few days later!
