Still strong North forecast but it was a bit grey
in our " bassin" in the marina so decided to use the wind and after a walk we
left at noon and gradually hoisted the mizzen and unrolled most of the genoa and
took off quickly downwind. Lynn says she saw 32 knots of wind. The sea was "tres
agitee" but it was just 4 hours down to La Turballe which is a very pleasant
holiday town with big fishing boats and a marina with minimal room and really
Moonbeam was a bit big for her berth.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The French make a big effort to make their
holiday towns interesting and locally there were lots of things to do and see.
We thought the weather was poor but then learnt of the rain and flooding in the
south of France and it did not seem so bad after all. A walk around town
and dinner aboard.
![]() Incidentally for the Bumble Bees who think David is
growing a beard it is not correct- just that natural macho French sailor man
look!
