Santa was somewhat deflated!

Bequia stayed relatively quiet until Christmas Eve when yachts  starting arriving from North and South until eventually there must have been over 250 yachts in Admiralty Bay. However it was not always ‘quiet’ at night with various bars belting out music and Christmas Eve one bar which must have enormous speakers had a DJ until 6 am on Christmas Day! Sleep was somewhat disturbed!

John and Chris from ‘Oriole’ had organised a drinks party at Midday on the 25th so we joined some friends with our bottle of fizz and food to share. In the evening 10 of us had Christmas Dinner at the ‘Gingerbread’  ( www.gingerbreadhotel.com ) which was enjoyable with enormous helpings of turkey and ham!

Boxing Day called for some exercise so we hiked over to Hope Bay, Ravine Bay and then to Friendship Bay where we swam before heading back to Port Elizabeth, the small town at the head of Admiralty Bay.
