As we arrived in Prince Rupert Bay one of the boat boys came over and with a big smile called “ Welcome to Paradise”.

After anchoring we were pleased to meet up again with Rob and Sarah from “Serafina” whom we last saw in Antigua last February.

Saturday we had an island tour with Rob and Sarah and Robin and Sue from “ Halsway Grace”. Our driver Uncle Sam ( aka Dr.Love ! )  kept up a commentary on the sights we passed and the fruit and vegetables that grew on the island.  Mangoes, pineapples, passion fruit, avocado, grapefruit, oranges, bananas to name a few!

We headed over to the Carib Reserve where the native Indians live – they are a different race to the Creole Indians on the west coast. Lunch was in a local restaurant on the east coast and we sat on the veranda with a rather alarming sloping floor that felt as if it would slide over the cliff edge!

We headed back via a gorge where a recent flood had spread tons of sand over the valley floor destroying a lot of agricultural land.

A very enjoyable day with good company.

As before we were enjoying the beauty and friendliness of Dominica.

It is amusing to think that here with an excellent wifi signal you can see local trading vessels about 60’ long that have engines and a sailing rig unloading provisions by hand onto pallets to be distributed to the local shops.  www.discoverdominica.com
