We left Oyster Bay and headed East along the North Coast of Long Island and yet again in zero wind entered Port Jefferson which was hectic with power boats and sail boats all enjoying the weekend weather.

We anchored just inside the entrance on the west side among various other yachts, right on the route to “ doggie beach” as every dinghy that passed was carrying a hound going ashore for a constitutional.

A lovely quiet night at anchor in a peaceful anchorage; here there were also some lovely houses but not as ostentatious as those closer to New York!
