English Harbour and Nelson's
Dockyard Moonbeam
at anchor in Freeman's Bay, English Harbour
Monday morning was the start of the RORC Caribbean
600 race and we watched the start from on the hill above English Harbour. The
wind had increased for the start and there was a stiff beat along the South
coast for all the boats. The race was won by 'Rambler' ( ex 'Speedboat' ) which
won the 605 mile race ( plus presumably some tacking) in 40 hours!
On Wednesday we tacked up to "Green Isle" on the
east coast and enjoyed a couple of days at anchor in this tranquil spot where
the reefs keeps out the waves which travel from Africa.!

Sunset at Green Isle
On Friday a downwind fast sail back to English
Harbour, catching a nice small Tuna on the way which made an excellent dinner.
Ian and Sheryl came aboard for a drink- they are on their way to
Australia!
