The marina has just been rebuilt ( good job Walcon
! ) and we were met by the Dockmaster who showed us to our berth.
We went for a walk to find the house that Maitland
lived in when he worked here.
The delight of a restaurant overlooking the marina
beckoned and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at H2O even if we did fail to pair
Maitland off with the delightful waitress!
Monday was a visit to the Rodney Bay Mall where
despite the recession buildings and new shops are sprouting up everywhere. In
the evening a final dinner at the restaurant called Delirius (US spelling! )
owned by an old friend of Maitland's where we enjoyed superb
food.
Tuesday morning saw the crew doing a final pack
prior to their taxi to the airport; the temperature shock will be considerable
when they arrive back in the UK.
2953? That is the mileage we have logged since
leaving La Gomera crossing the Atlantic and quickly cruising some of the "
Windward Islands". Remembering the favourable current we have travelled over
3000 miles as a very happy crew and we will miss them even if "Moonbeam"
will seem bigger again.
The mileage we have logged since leaving Loch
Melfort is 6014!
