The sun rose on Wednesday morning and the wind dropped and at the same time blew onto our stern---engine on!
We had full sun with no cloud and no wind as we chugged south calculating our fuel reserves. We were visited by a pod of dolphins who cavorted around the boat showing off their skills. They got bored after about twenty minutes and disappeared.
At 1530 the wind picked up and more importantly moved onto the quarter. The spinnaker pole was put away and we raised full main and together with the genny made about 5 knots. Very relaxing in the sun with no engine noise.
We prepared for the wind to drop with the sun-----but no it increased to about 12 knots and backed onto the beam. This blew all through the night and is still blowing albeit now down to about 9 knots.
We were visited by "Percy Bolt" this morning -----a racing pigeon probably related to the one that hitched a lift on Marita for several hours six years ago !
50 miles to Gijon so a late afternoon arrival anticipated.
